  We went for a birthday evening meal and ordered roasted lamb and a mixture sampler of seafood in a lemon/saffron sauce. Meals were excellent and service also. Bread offered on the table was appreciated as was the provision of the additional bread knife. Shame bread did not match the standard of the rest, being of store/steam bake variety. The interior of the restaurant is quite beautiful and of high quality finish. Wine was excellent too with a very good range of choice. Only lack of another star was the dessert menu which was uninspired and restricted in choice. This is not the focus of the restaurant and would not prevent us going again. But with everything else being so good it is a pity that we did not find ourselves drooling when we read it. We give these details so the owners understand why not 5 stars. We felt that the meals were very good value for the quality offered and just wish the desserts could be improved....definitely recommended.

  Delicious fresh food.. Recently they have new owners and have improved their quality of food and service. Wonderful cozy atmosphere for a date night or a family dinner. Recommended

  My husband and I had dinner at Kalvas last Friday (Nov.17th) for our anniversary. We were advised to come early, no wonder ! The place was packed with happy diners. We found the new owner David, and staff very happy and helpful. We had the Friday special which was prime rib and it was flying out of the kitchen and no wonder, great food and Yorkshire pudding was huge. The ambiance was great, music was soft jazz which is our Favorite. Hope this stays the same as we will be regulars. Thank you David and staff (so attentive) for a great evening ! 5 Stars !!   Our first time at the restaurant. Had a reservation for 7. Were seated at 7:40. Appetizers were brought about 40 minutes later. Entre not until after 9. When we inquired about the food we were told that they were very busy and we should be patient. If the food had been good it would have been worth the wait. Had the prime rib. Unseasoned. No gravy for the Yorkshire. When we asked about gravy we were told, in a VERY condisending way , that we do not serve gravy in our restaurant sir. All in all not a place I would recommend.

  The new management have really turned this restaurant around. Some amazing dishes - especially the turkey plate. Gourmet and on-par with other local high-end restaurants - but with a more reasonable price point. Really friendly and helpful service staff (waiter/waitress). Recommended.
